One source for the bill and the return
Most GST trouble in a medical store is not the tax. It is the evening spent reconciling a till against a notebook against a pile of distributor bills.
GSTR-1, rate by rate
B2B and B2C, rate-wise summaries, credit notes for returns - prepared from the invoices themselves, in the shape the portal asks for.
GSTR-3B, with the figures traceable
Output tax from your sales, input from your purchases, each number clickable back to the bills behind it. A summary you can defend.
GSTR-2B reconciliation
Match the portal's 2B against what you actually entered. A supplier who has not filed shows up before you claim the credit, not in a notice later.
HSN without typing it
It lives on the medicine, so every line of every bill carries it and the rate-wise summary builds itself.
An invoice that satisfies both inspectors
Your GSTIN and drug licence in the header; on a B2B bill, the buyer's GSTIN and licence too. One document for the GST officer and the drug inspector.
The registers underneath
GST sales and purchase registers, Schedule H register, day book. The returns summarise these, so you can always find the bill behind a figure.
What this does not claim
It does not file for you, and no software can make a pharmacy compliant on its own. It prepares the return from your data and shows you where every figure came from - the filing stays with you and your accountant, which is where it belongs.

Each of these answers a different question about running a medical store.
Questions people ask about GST
Does it file my GST return for me?
No, and nothing that does should be trusted blindly. It prepares GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from the bills you have already raised, in the shape the portal expects, so filing becomes a review rather than an evening of adding up. What is filed is still your decision and your accountant's.
Where do the figures come from?
From your own billing and purchase entry - the same data, not a second set of books. That is the point: the return and the invoices cannot disagree, because there is only one source for both.
Is HSN on every line?
HSN sits on the medicine, so it is on every line of every bill without anyone typing it. Rate-wise summaries come out of the same lines for the return.
Can I reconcile GSTR-2B?
Upload the 2B and it is matched against the purchase bills you entered, so a supplier who has not filed, or has filed a different figure, shows up before you claim the credit rather than after.
What about a B2B bill to another medical shop?
The buyer's GSTIN and their drug licence number print on the invoice, which is what lets them claim input credit and what an inspector looks for on a wholesale bill. Your own GSTIN and licence are in the header of every design.
Do I get the registers, not just the returns?
GST sales and purchase registers, a Schedule H register for the medicines that need one, and a day book. The returns are a summary of these, so you can always see which bill a figure came from.
